YIPPEE WE’VE DONE IT !!

What have we done??

We have reached our target of  £26,500 for Phases 2/3   of the Play for All project.  We will be meeting with the contractor on site later this month to discuss when the “Dragon Swing & Forest Climber” will be installed. We aim to start in early Autumn. The committee would like to thank the following for their grants:

The A M Fenton Trust £3000,

Yorventure Landfill Trust £7,147

Wigginton Village Stores for the ongoing Charity Box collection .

Local fund raising and generous donations by a number of local residents.

The Committee have been delighted to see the increased use of the field especially by School, Nursery, Pre-School and Church groups.

WIGGINTON PRIMARY SCHOOL SUMMER FAYRE BOTTLE TOMBOLA

Held on Saturday 30 th June 2015 It was a brilliant day thanks to the tremendous generosity of all those who donated bottles and attended the event. It raised £355 and was a great fund booster.

 FITNESS FOR ALL

null

Now that we have replaced equipment and refurbished the Children’s Play Area, the committee is now looking to provide more outdoor Gym Equipment for use by our other residents.  Quotations so far are around £15,000 and fund raising has started!! This will be the “Fitness for All” Project. Inclusiveness is still an important part of this project and provision of apparatus that can be used by less able residents alongside able people is our priority.

DOG FIELD

This remains as popular as ever with owners bringing their dogs from near and far. We urge owners to act responsibly when their dogs are exercising.

LOGS REMOVED

The seating logs from the field have been removed due to their rapidly deteriorating state. Re-seeding of the area will take place in the Autumn.

AVIVA VOTES FOR CHURCHFIELD

We were unsuccessful in gaining enough votes to qualify for an award. Our project was successful in the draw and we gained £500 which is going to fund the Fitness For All project.

The next committee meeting is on Monday 21 st September2015.
